Sri Matsya Narayana Temple

Sri Mata Vana Durga

The Divine mother Sri VanaDurga is the presiding deity and the sthana-devata of the Omkara Hills. Vana Durga is one of the numerous forms of Goddess Durga. As the name indicates, she resides in forests and hills. The temples of Vana durga are always open to air. 5 Simple Saving Tricks

Trick #1: Four banks, not one!

Want a smart way to control your money? Use four little banks. Label each bank with the way you’ll usethe money: SAVE, SPEND, INVEST, and GIVE.

A spending bank for money to be used soon on everyday things. 

A saving bank for money to be used later on larger items. 
An investing bank for money that will be used several years from now. 
A giving bank for gifts to help others.

Decorate each bank with stickers, photographs, cut-outs from magazines — or your own drawings. The pictures show how the money will be used. For example, if your SAVE bank holds money for a new bike, that’s the picture you tape to that bank. Show off the banks in your room! They keep track of your money: the money you have saved.

Trick #2: Set Savings Goals!

How much should you save each month? That depends what you’re saving for. For example, you want to buy a new bike, but your parents say that you have to save $100 of the bike’s price before they will pay the rest. It can be tough to earn $100 in a short amount of time. That’s why money-smart kids have savings goals – and stick to them.

If you saved $25 each month ($6.25 a week) , you could buy that bike in four months! And if you saved $50 each month, you could buy that bike in two months! Sweet! The more you can save, the quicker you get the bike.

Money-smart kids who stick to their savings goals make things happen!

Trick #3: Save First, Not Last!

What’s the FIRST thing you do when you get paid? You divide your money and put it in your four banks. If you want that bike, you have to be sure that money goes into the SAVE bank FIRST. Talk to your parents about your plan. They might separate that SAVE money from your allowance, so that you can easily put it in the SAVE bank right away.

Here’s why putting your SAVE money into your bank first is important. Listen up! THIS IS A BIG RULE about money. You can spend it only once. Let’s say you use your SPEND money go to a movie. You have all of your allowance in your pocket, and you spend $5.50 of your SAVE money on pizza and soda. That money is gone. You can’t use it for your bike. Your dream of a bike just got farther away.

Trick #4: Cut your expenses

Get a notebook that you use only to keep track of your money. Write down any money you spend. Try to keep a Money Diary. List what you bought, when you bought it, how much it cost, and why you bought the item. Your money diary will teach you something about yourself. For example, you may find that you spend $5 a week on snacks from vending machines at school. Are those snacks worth that money? Or would you rather save that money for something else? Don’t eat the snacks, and you get closer to buying the bike.

Trick #5: When you do spend, be a smart shopper

Okay, you’ve got some money and you’re ready to buy a DVD. You’ve saved that money, so make it work for you. Remember to shop smart! Check out prices. You can buy that DVD plenty of places. Figure out where you can get the best buy for your money. Look for sales and coupons. If you save a dollar, that means you can spend it on something else. Or add it to your SAVE bank for your bike. Get your Khata through Sakala, 

without bribe

Don’t think that paying bribe is inevitable. There are people who got Khata without paying an extra penny. You can do it too.

One of the useful initiatives by the erstwhile BJP Government in Karnataka was the Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act - 2011,also known as Sakala. Introduced on 1 March 2012, it aims at bringing transparency in administration. There are various services offered under Sakala, including obtaining a Khata for your house. The Sakala website mentions the list of documents required for submitting your Khata registration application:

1. Application in prescribed form 

2. Attested copy of the title deed 

3. Copy of Encumbrance Certificate (in form 15) for the past 10 years 

4. Conversion Certificate of the Land Conversion of the issued by the competent authority 

5. Survey sketch / Tippani copies 

6. Copies of the NOC from Town Planning Authority (BDA) for bifurcation of land (in case of land measurements less than the measurements in land conversion certificate)

History of Tiranga - Indian Flag

On August 6, 1931, The Indian National Congress formally adopted this flag, which was first hoisted on August 31.

A resolution was passed and the committee formally adopted the tricolor flag on August 6 1921. It was first hoisted on August 31, 1931. The date was declared as Flag Day. The proportions for the flag were set at 2:3.

History of Tiranga - Indian Flag

Associated with the names of Dr. Annie Besant and Lokmanya Tilak, this flag was hoisted at the Congress session in Calcutta during the "Home Rule Movement".

By 1917, the political struggle for India’s freedom had taken a definite turn. This flag was used by Dr. Annie Besant and Lokmanya Tilak during the “Home Rule” movement. The top left corner of the flag has the union jack. The flag itself consists of 9 strips, 5 red and 4 green. The crescent and the star is on the top right corner and 7 stars in the pattern of saptarishi are arranged on the flag. This flag symbolizes the aspirations of the freedom struggle at that time of a Dominion Status.

The flag that was first hoisted on August 7, 1906, at the Parsee Bagan Square in Calcutta

This flag was first hoisted on August 7, 1906 at the Parsee Bagan Square (Green Park) in Calcutta. It is a horizontal tricolor of dark blue, yellow and red. The upper blue stripe has 8 stars of different points. These represented the various state of bloom of lotus flower. The middle yellow stripe has “Vande Mataram” written in Devanagari script. The lower red strip has a sun and a star and a crescent on each end. Some sources give Sachindra Prasad Bose and Sukumar Mitra the credit for design Called the 'Saptarishi Flag', this was hoisted in Stuttgart at the International Socialist Congress held on August 22, 1907

This flag was known as the Saptarishi flag and was hosted in Paris and later in Stuttgart by Madam Bhikaji Cama and her band of revolutionaries. This flag was very similar to first flag. The top strip had one lotus and seven stars depicting the Saptarishi . Madam Cama was the designer of this flag.

According to the Flag code of India, the Indian flag has a ratio of two by three (where the length of the flag is 1.5 times that of the width). All three stripes of the flag (saffron, white and green) are to be equal in width and length. The size of the Ashoka Chakra was not specified in the Flag code, but it should have twenty-four spokes that are evenly spaced.^[4] In section 4.3.1 of "IS1: Manufacturing standards for the Indian Flag", there is a chart that details the size of the Ashoka Chakra on the nine specific sizes of the national flag.^[2] In both the Flag code and IS1, they call for the Ashoka Chakra to be printed or painted on both sides of the flag in navy blue.^[4][2] Below is the list of specified shades for all colors used on the national flag, with the exception of Navy Blue, from "IS1: Manufacturing standards for the Indian Flag" as defined in the 1931 CIE Color Specifications.^[2] The navy blue colour can be found in the standard IS:1803-1973.^[2]

ನವದೆಹಲಿ: ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬಾಲ್ಯ ವಿವಾಹ ನಡೆದ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ತಮಿಳುನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಮೊದಲ ಹಾಗೂ ಎರಡನೇ ಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿವೆ.

ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವರದಿಯಾದ 280 ಬಾಲ್ಯ ವಿವಾಹಗಳ ಪೈಕಿ ಅರ್ಧದಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಕರಣಗಳು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ತಮಿಳುನಾಡು, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಕೇರಳ, ಆಂಧ್ರ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ತೆಲಂಗಾಣದಿಂದ ವರದಿಯಾಗಿವೆ.

ಸಂತಸಪಡುವ ವಿಷಯವೆಂದರೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಭಾರತ, ಈಶಾನ್ಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು, ಗೋವಾ, ಜಮ್ಮು ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಶ್ಮೀರ ಹಾಗೂ ಉತ್ತರಾಖಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಿಷ್ಟ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಸುಳಿವಿಲ್ಲ.

ಕಾರಣ ಏನು?: ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಅನಿಷ್ಟ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಾದ ಬಾಲ್ಯ ವಿವಾಹಗಳನ್ನು  ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟಬೇಕಾದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಸಮರ್ಪಕವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸದಿರುವುದೇ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ವರದಿ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.

ಬಾಲ್ಯ ವಿವಾಹ ತಡೆ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಪಾಲನೆಯಾಗದಿರುವುದು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಬಾಲ್ಯ ವಿವಾಹಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ 2014ರ ಅಂಕಿಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳು ನಿಖರವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ವರದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲಿ  ಬಾಲ್ಯ ವಿವಾಹ ನಡೆದಿವೆ ಎಂದು ಎಂದು ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮತ್ತು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ತೀರಾ ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ವರದಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದೇಶದ 20–24 ವಯೋಮಾನದ ವಿವಾಹಿತ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಪೈಕಿ ಶೇ 43ರಷ್ಟು ಜನರು 18 ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಮೊದಲೇ ವಿವಾಹವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದೆ. ಬಾಲ್ಯ ವಿವಾಹದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಬಾಲಕಿಯರು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ ಹಿಂಸೆ, ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಶೋಷಣೆಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ವರದಿಯು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

ನವದೆಹಲಿ: 1993ರ ಮುಂಬೈ ಸರಣಿ ಸ್ಫೋಟದ ರೂವಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಭೂಗತ ಪಾತಕಿ ದಾವೂದ್ ಇಬ್ರಾಹಿಂ ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನದಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬುದು ಆತನ ಪಾಸ್‌ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಫೋನ್ ಬಿಲ್‌ನಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸಾಬೀತಾಗಿದೆ.

ದಾವೂದ್ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನ ವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಭದ್ರತಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಈಗ ಹೊಸ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಾತಕಿ ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನದಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.

ಭದ್ರತಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ದೊರೆತ ದಾವೂದ್ ಇಬ್ರಾಹಿಂ ಪಾಸ್‌ಪೋರ್ಟ್, ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಫೋಟೋ ಹಾಗೂ ಪತ್ನಿಯ ಫೋನ್ ಬಿಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನದ ಕರಾಚಿಯ ವಿಳಾಸ ಇದೆ.

ದಾವೂದ್ ಪತ್ನಿ, ಪುತ್ರ ಮೊಯೀನ್ ನವಾಜ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುತ್ರಿಯರಾದ ಮಹರುಖ್, ಮೆಹ್ರೀನಾ ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನದಲ್ಲೇ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸದ್ಯ ಕರಾಚಿ ಸಮೀಪದ ಕ್ಲಿಫ್ಟನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ದಾವೂದ್ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಭದ್ರತಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಹಿಂದೂಸ್ಥಾನ್ ಟೈಮ್ಸ್‌ಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆ.

ದಾವೂದ್, ಶೇಖ್ ದಾವೂದ್ ಹಸನ್ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಸ್‌ಪೋರ್ಟ್ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು, ಕುಟುಂಬದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾದಿಂದ ದುಬೈಗೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ಭದ್ರತಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳಿಗೆ ದೊರೆತ ನೂತನ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಸಾಬೀತಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೂದ್ ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಮೂರು ಪಾಸ್‌ಪೋರ್ಟ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಭದ್ರತಾ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ.

ಭಾರತ-ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಭದ್ರತಾ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಸಭೆ ಸೋಮವಾರ ನಡೆಯಲಿದ್ದು, ಈ ವೇಳೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಭದ್ರತಾ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರ ಅಜಿತ್ ದೊವಲ್ ಅವರು, ದಾವೂದ್ ಪಾಕಿಸ್ತಾನದಲ್ಲೇ ಇರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವ ಹೊಸ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾಕ್ ವಿದೇಶಾಂಗ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರ ಸರ್ತಾಜ್ ಅಜೀಜ್ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತರಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ.

BBMP is divided into eight zones, for the ease of administration:

1. Yelahanka zone

2. Dasarahalli

3. Bommanahalli

4. South

5. Mahadevapura

6. East zone  7. Rajarajeshwarinagar   8. West zone

Every zone has a Joint Commissioner, who is answerable to the BBMP commissioner. The decentralisation hasn't been very effective in addressing the problems in administration. The end of 2013 saw discussions in various circles about dividing BBMP into more parts.
